Rice Harvesting

 

Severe scarcity of labour, particularly in coastal districts, is forcing farmers to go for mechanization and the management of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agriculture University (ANGRAU) is concentrating on farm mechanization, says the university’s Vice-Chancellor P. Raghava Reddy.

 

The university has started identifying machines for harvesting, tilling, transplantation, levelling and other farm works. There is a good demand for light weight machines in the twin Godavari districts.
