11-03-2024: The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nellore of SPSR Nellore district was held on 11-03-2024 at KVK Nellore to review work done of 2023-24 and to formulate technical programme of work for the year 2024-25. The meeting was chaired byDr.C.Ramana, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Tirupati and was attended by Dr. B. Mukunda Rao, Deputy Director of Extension and DE Nominee, ANGRAU and Sri M.Shivanarayana, DPD, ATMA, Nellore district along with Heads of ARS- Podalakur, Nellore, Principal Scientists, Scientists from other institutes of southern zone (AP), officials of state agriculture department, line departments and progressive farmers and SAC committee members.

12-09-2024: Dr.S.Lokesh Babu, SMS(Extension) organised training programme on Integrated Crop Managaement in Blackgram as a part of CFLD-PULSES. 1.Conducted preliminary meeting with farmers who are interested in cultivation of BlackGram.2.Had interaction with farmers regards varieties which were cultivated in previous year, major problems being faced by farmers in cultivation of Blackgram. 3.Identified the critical inputs to be distributed as per the requirement of farmers under different clusters. 4.Had lectures on preparatory activities to be done for sowing of Blackgram. 09.09.2024 to 13.09.2024: Dr. R. Sujatha, SMS, Home Science conducted 5 days skill training programme on value addition to millets at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nellore under 100 days Viksit Bharat Programme. Total 30 members participated for this programme.

06.09.2024: Dr. R. Sujatha, SMS, Home Science participated in Poshan Maasotsav at Anganwadi Centre, Ramnagar, nellore. Total 5 anganwadi centers teachers,ICDS Supervisor, pregnant women, lactating mothers attended for this programme. I explained about the importance of poshan chakra, importance of pregnant women diet plan, importance of millets in our food chart and its impacts on preschool child growth and the benefits of raising Nutri Garden in Anganwadi Centre.

Vijay Kumar Naik, SMS (Plant Protection) alongwith SMS (CP) conducted diagnostic field visit in different crops at Peramana (V), Sangam (M); Ponguru Kandrika (V), Padamatinaidupalli (V) Marripadu (M); 3) Kacheri Devaraya Palli (V), Anantasagaram (M, observed pest & diseases and suggested management practices as mentioned below. Green gram & black gram: Yellow Mosaic Disease; Little Leaf and Phyllody Disease; Leaf Crinkle Disease-Crop was at harvesting stage, so that we suggested uprooting and burnig of virus and phytoplamsa infected plants. Maize: Fall Army Worm-Spraying of emamectin benzoate@100 gm/acre;Turcicum Leaf Blight-Spraying of mancozeb@3gm/lit of water. Paddy:Sheathrot and Stem Rot-Spraying of propiconazole@200ml/acre or tebuconazole@400ml/acre two sprays at 15 days intervals.

07-08-2024 & 08-08-2024: Torch relay programme: Golden Jubilee year of KVKs has been celebrated on occasion of completion of 50Years with establishment of First Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Puducherry (Pondicherry) under the administrative control of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore on 21st March 1974. Hence a Golden Jubilee Torch Relay Programme has been planned by ATARI Zone-X to carry the Golden Jubilee Torch to every KVK of Zone-X and conducting large programme and explaining the Significant achievements of respective KVK. On this occasion, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Nellore organized a two-day Golden Jubilee Torch Relay program on 07-08-2024 & 08-08-2024 with events both on-campus and off-campus. The program highlighted the significant achievements of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nellore over its 25 years of establishment, and shared these accomplishments with the farming community of SPSR Nellore district. On this Occasion University officials Dr.B. Pramila Rani, Director of Extension, ANGRAU, Dr.V. Sumathi, Associate Director of Research (Southern Zone) RARS, Tirupathi, Dr.M.C. Obaiah, University Head, Department of Agricultural Extension and Dr.B. Mukunda Rao, Deputy Director of Extension, ANGRAU joined as chief guests for the programme. From state department of Agriculture Sri. Malakondaiah, DPM, APCNF, Nellore graced the programme as chief guest. Additionally, Sri Koti Reddy garu, Rythu Sangham Adhyakshulu also graced the programme as representative from farming community.

Visited Kovvuru, Cherlopalem, Kattakinda Cherlopalem and Paturu villages of Kovvuru mandal fields. Higher incidence of leaf folder damage was observed alonng with other problems and suggested management practices as mentioned below.

23-07-2024: ARYA PROJECT: Dr.D. Vijay Kumar Naik (SMS, Plant Protection) organized Training Programme on Mushroom production at KVK Nellore. A total of 48 trainees attended the programme. Trainees were taught both theoretically and practically on knowledge, skill aspects of Mushroom Production Technology. They were also imparted with knowledge on value addition and marketing aspects of Mushroom. All KVK staff participated in the programme.

20-07-2024: Dr.S.Lokesh Babu ,SMS(Extension) organised training programme on “ Farmer Producer organisation and its sustainability Aspects”. Trainees of the programme were imparted knowledge on Steps in formation of FPO Sustainability aspects of FPO. In addition they were also imparted knowledge on Drum seeder technology, Soil Sample collection process ,Importance of Soil testing and ICM practices in Paddy and acid lime. A total of 60 participants attended the programme at Yeturu kandriga village of Chejarla Mandal of SPSR Nellore district. Programme Coordinator along with SMS(PP) and PA(SS) attended the Programme.

Dr.K. Kiran Kumar Reddy explained Good agricultural practices for edagaru Paddy cultivation. Ms. Venna Tejaswini created awareness regarding Meghdoot app and Damini app to participants. Explained favourable conditions for incidence of sheath blight, bacterial leaf blight in paddy through the data forecasted. I also explained control measures to be taken up for incidence of Sheath Blight such as seed treatment, applying nitrogen (3-4 times in split doses), maintaining weed free environment, spraying propiconazole 1 ml + tebuconazole 75 WP 0.4g in 1.25 ml water for every 15 days. Bacterial Leaf Blight can be controlled by seed treatment, applying nitrogen (3-4 times in split doses), following proper drainage practices.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. L. Prasanthi, Associate Director of Research (ADR), RARS, Tirupati and was attended by Dr. J. V. Prasad, Director ATARI Zone-X, Dr.B.Mukunda Rao, Deputy Director of Extension and DE Nominee, ANGRAU, Smt.Y.Anandakumari, PD, ATMA & Joint Director of Agriculture i/calong with Principal Scientists and Scientists of KVK, Scientists of other institutes of southern zone and officials of state Agriculture Department and line departments, including progressive farmers.. The program started with playing of university and ICAR songfollowed by the lightening of Lamp. On this occasion three publications entitled “Vathavarana Adaharitha Vyavasaya Suchanalu”, VannmeiRoyalaSaguloNanyamaina Pillala Empika”andHaritha Gruhalo Vudyanavana Pantala NaruPempakam” were released. Dr. J. V. Prasad, Director ATARI Zone-X inaugurated the meeting in Zoom platform with opening remarks briefing the importance of KVK in horizontal spread of technologies. He appreciated the whole team of KVK for its extended activities like ARYA and ASCI trainings in the whole district. He also briefed that the action plan of KVK should represent the farming situations in the district and should be needy to the Nellore farmers. Dr. L. Prasanthi, ADR, RARS, Tirupati, congratulated the staff of KVKfor receiving the Best KVK Award for the year 2019-20. On her address, she bought out the potentiality of KVK for seed production and nursery development to supply quality material for the benefits of farming community in consultation with RBKs. She also insisted to strengthen the RBK staff by conducting regular visits and also by conducting regular training programmes to the RBK staff. Dr.B.Mukunda Rao, Deputy Director of Extension& DE Nominee, ANGRAU,on his remarks explained about the importance of conducting SAC meeting and the members involved in it. He also suggested the KVK scientist to do all its activities by involving the RBK, so that a very good linkage between KVK-RBK will be developed for easyspread of technologies. 18-7-2019: Completion of Certificate course on Organic Farming
|
(1st Phase 2019-20): Open and Distance Learning Centre - certificate course on "Organic Farming (1st phase 2019-20)" was completed on 18-07-2019 by conducting examination and valedictory by Dr. Tulasi Lakshmi Thentu, SMS (CP). 33 members registered the course from Nellore district. As per the guidelines three classes and a final examination was conducted at the end of the course. Dr. V Paramashiva, Scientist (Entomology) and Dr. U. Vineetha, Scientist (Agronomy), ARS Nellore were invited as guest lecturer to cover various topics in the syllabus. All the topics in the syllabus were covered in oral lectures with the help of power point presentation. Out of 33 participants 23 attended the examination and successfully completed the course. Valedictory session was conducted at the end of the programme after completion of examination. |
